About the Department
The Risk department guarantees that the Bank’s risk is managed through a risk management architecture and policies and practises agreed by the Board of Directors, which include independent risk identification, measurement, and management throughout the Bank’s numerous operations. Through a quantitative or qualitative evaluation of the underlying risks, the Bank’s Risk department aims to proactively anticipate weaknesses at the transaction and portfolio level.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Understanding of the default and recovery processes in banks, both conceptually and practically.
- Experience developing and implementing credit risk models in accordance with Ind AS, IRB, and other stress testing exercises.
- Familiarity with default studies and similar analytics from rating agencies, bureau would be desirable.
- Technical knowledge in SAS, R, SQL, and other comparable statistical tools and technologies is preferred.
- Identifying new factors that can be used to forecast credit risk.
- Work on incorporating other data sources into current early warning frameworks.
Qualifications / Essential skills required
Optimal qualification for success on the job is:
- Post graduate with specialization in Quant and statistics viz. Masters in statistics, MBA, M Tech with relevant risk analytical exposure (Risk, Collections and Fraud)
- Advanced and predictive analytics, decision trees, segmentation analysis, and cluster analysis employing analytical and statistical techniques are all skills you’ll need.
- Should have a basic grasp of the banking default and recovery processes.
- Should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as a “professional scepticism” mindset.
- Working familiarity of SAS, R, SQL, and data mining tools is required.
- Experience with advanced and predictive analytics, clustering algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), and associated statistical processes.
- Should be able to communicate, present, and interact with others effectively.
- A strong degree of drive is required, as well as the ability to learn quickly.
