About the Role
The Rider “core analytics science” team in Bangalore, India, is in charge of optimising the world’s largest ride-sharing company’s customer-side growth engine. The Bangalore Rider product team has a global mission to develop and improve Rider end-user features and products to help the company grow and enter new markets. Current initiatives are aimed at streamlining the onboarding process for riders as well as developing new product options in emerging regions, such as high-capacity vehicles and simplified versions of the Rider app.
As a data scientist on the Bangalore Rider analytics team, you will play a key role in the Bangalore Rider product team’s data science strategy. Across this role, you’ll provide a metric-driven approach to product, engineering, and operations, as well as collaborate with data science teams in the United States. You’ll conduct advanced analysis using product interaction data to uncover ways to improve the product’s performance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To drive growth initiatives, conduct “deep-dive” analysis across all parts of our business, including product development and rider engagement methods.
- Develop exploratory analytical concepts to help design future initiatives and make action suggestions.
- To statistically measure relative impact and extract trends, conduct time-series analysis, hypothesis testing, and causal studies.
- Create models to better analyse user behaviour and anticipate cohort performance in the future.
- Experiments must be designed and the data must be interpreted in order to derive specific and measurable conclusions.
- Create dashboards and reports to share findings and track critical data indicators on a regular basis.
- Present your results to senior management in order to help them make better business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in disciplines like product development, engineering, operations, and marketing.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quantitative analysis role with a focus on statistics is required.
- AÂ bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or a doctorate in mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, or another quantitative subject (advanced degrees are a plus).
- Excellent SQL abilities and the ability to work efficiently at scale with massive data sets using tools like Python or R.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and move swiftly while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Self-motivated and able to operate in a self-directed manner
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
