Roles And Responsibilities
The intern is responsible for contributing to the research project (s) linked to SSWA’s work programme for the implementation of the SDGs under the direct supervision of a staff member(s). The project’s focus will be determined by the intern’s background, abilities, and interests.
Other duties may include undertaking the following:
- Ongoing monitoring of key developments, policy trends, and news stories relating to the subregion’s implementation of the 2030 Agenda and SDGs.
- Monitor and gather information on ESCAP-SSWA member states’ national policies on chosen sustainable development topics.
- Collect data, create figures and tables, describe and evaluate the tables and results in order to assist ESCAP-SSWA professionals with associated research and analysis.
- Provide written highlights and briefing notes from conferences, seminars, meetings, and other events.
- Assist ESCAP-SSWA events with administrative, organisational, and conference management tasks.
- Any other actions that the supervisor deems appropriate.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
- Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.
Stipend
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Duration
The internship opportunity is for a minimum of two months and maximum of six months.
