About the Position
The WRI India Energy Program is looking for an intern. With a particular focus on Jharkhand, our energy access work aims to advance demand-driven solutions for affordable, reliable, and clean energy to power sustainable development.
Roles & Responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, which are outlined below.
- Cleaning and processing primary data from the field, rearranging data in a standardised manner that can be read by both humans and machines, and mining and aggregating electrical and socio-economic development related data (including with geo-spatial features) from secondary sources.
- Using statistical methods to analyse data sets and uncover trends and patterns that may be useful in the project’s diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
- Creating suitable documentation that enables stakeholders to comprehend the processes of the data analysis process and, if necessary, reproduce or replicate the analysis.
- To validate the above-mentioned conclusions, complement the analysis by working closely with the project team and conducting literature reviews and consultations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Higher education degree in statistics, data science, analytics, development economics, mathematics, or comparable social science courses (completed or in progress).
- Data mining, appraisal, analysis, and visualisations are all skills you’ll need.
- Experience analysing and understanding data utilising computer languages and tools such as Python, R, Stata, Tableau, SAS, and Excel macro functions Experience converting analyses and data interpretation into descriptive reports and presentations
- Working knowledge of statistics and geospatial datasets, particularly in reference to Jharkhand, as well as a grasp of the relationship between electricity availability and socioeconomic development, are preferred.

The World Resources Institute internship will be for a period of 3 months.
