NABARD is inviting applications for the Student Internship Scheme (SIS) for the year 2024-25. Here is everything that you need to know about this NABARD Internship!

About NABARD

NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) is India’s apex regulatory organisation in charge of overall regulation and licencing of regional rural banks and apex cooperative banks. It is governed by the Government of India’s Ministry of Finance. “Matters relating policy, planning, and operations in the field of credit for agricultural and other economic activities in rural areas of India” have been committed to the bank. NABARD is actively involved in the development and implementation of Financial Inclusion.

About the internship

The Scheme aims to allocate short-term assignments, projects, or studies that are beneficial and pertinent to NABARD to exceptional students pursuing post-graduate degrees in Agriculture and allied fields (such as veterinary medicine, fisheries, etc.), Agri-business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Management from reputable institutions/universities, or students pursuing five-year integrated courses who have completed or are in their fourth year of study. For SIS 2024–25, Indian students pursuing an education outside are also qualified.
Through the students’ studies and projects on topics of interest to NABARD, the program is anticipated to offer insightful feedback from a new angle.

Number of openings

There are 40 seats total for NABARD SIS 2024–2025 (five seats for the head office and 35 seats for regional offices/TEs). Under SIS 2024–2025, each RO/TE will be allotted just one seat.

Broad Themes/ Areas

The main goals of SIS 2024–2025 will be to look at issues that are relevant now and evaluate the effects of different NABARD treatments on the ground. The SIS 2024–25 plan will also act as a test for recording field-level success stories of NABARD’s projects, programs, plans, and activities.
All interns chosen under SIS 2024–25 will be obliged to study one of the following four NABARD interventions exclusively in order to guarantee that we have a sufficient number of reports on a given issue from which we can derive meaningful insights:
A. KCC’s coverage of concerns and plans to enhance lending through the organization
B. PACS’s business diversification to increase profitability
C. Smart Agriculture: Using IOT and drone technology for precision farming: Acceptability, implementation, and difficulties
D. In addition to the above three themes, ROs/TEs may assign a state specific theme to the interns.
