Through securities research, monitoring services, data, and technology solutions, this organisation attempts to promote market transparency and give the highest quality ratings.

About the Internship

We’re looking for strong individual contributors with strong problem-solving and analytical skills to work with the Mumbai Credit Operations team to automate data analysis processes, build and run data analytics to help with rating, research, and surveillance, and develop and improve data analysis and workflow optimization tools. Advanced knowledge of Python, SQL, and VBA is also necessary. This position will give you a one-of-a-kind opportunity to understand crucial parts of our business, such as in-depth collateral and transaction research.

Working with SQL, VBA/VB Script, Intex API, Python, and other programming tools, the individual will help improve work optimization tools, cash flow analysis tools, and credit models. A desire to learn and the capacity to learn rapidly are essential for success in this profession, given the changing company needs and development tools.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects and services in collaboration with the rating team.
  • Quantitative analysis should be used to measure results whenever possible.
  • Understand the fundamentals of data storage and access, particularly in relation to structured data systems such as databases.
  • Review deal documents, legal documentation, analyze periodic data, and prepare / execute cash flow models both in-house and externally using Intex Calc to analyze the credit risk in the underlying collateral.
  • Assist the rating analyst with the preparation of the rating committee note and rationale, as well as the creation and maintenance of various databases related to the underlying collateral.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate data from internal and external sources for use in developing criteria, rating systems, and research reports. Also, for the Research Platform, automate and optimize data pipelines.
  • Maintain regular and open communication with the operations and technology teams on assigned tasks and priorities, and ensure that programmes in development fulfil established criteria and pass user acceptance testing before they are released.
  • Analytical Tools should be produced and maintained.
  • Ensure analytics governance compliance across Predictive Models, Cash Flow Engines, and Analytical Tools by working with Credit Operations.
  • To match development activities with dynamic business needs, understand the domain and deliver quick fix solutions.

Eligibility

  • Mathematics, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative discipline is a plus.
  • A master’s degree is necessary, with a CFA or FRM designation recommended.
  • Python / Anaconda, Data science stack (Jupyter, Pandas), Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and MSSQL are all skills I have. Basic understanding of these languages / platforms is also acceptable.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and quantitative/analytical abilities.
  • A creative thinker who can also solve problems analytically.
  • It would be advantageous if you had prior experience with the Intex / Cashflow Modelling platform.
  • It’s a benefit if you know additional programming languages.
