About IIT Bombay
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) is one of the country’s fifteen higher institutions of technology, established with the goal of providing higher education, research, and training opportunities in many disciplines of science and technology.
The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is used to admit students to IIT Bombay’s 4 year, 5 year, and 2 year programmes. Bachelor of Technology, four-year Bachelor of Science, five-year Master of Science, two- or three-year Master of Technology, and a few more degrees are available. It also provides a comprehensive graduate programme in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics that leads to doctorate degrees. There are now 15 academic departments, 20 centres, a school of excellence, and four multidisciplinary programmes, including a Management Program, within the university.

The IITB Research Internship is intended to provide a professional and instructive research opportunity. These grants are offered for particular types of study. Eligibility
- Be in the third or fourth year of a bachelor’s degree, or the second year of a master’s program. Study branch or discipline shall follow the project specifications provided by the faculty at IIT Bombay (Internship Guide).
- Must have been among the top 20% of your discipline’s previous year’s students at the College, University, or Institute. At the time of application, a certificate from the principal in the required format will need to be submitted.
- Must be enrolled full-time both during the application process and throughout the internship. If the academic calendar of your college, institute, or university requires it, you may submit a partial project report earlier—for example, in April—than when the internship is scheduled to end—for example, in June, with permission from the internship guide.
- Must be able to work the internship full-time. Interning part-time is not permitted. When applying, you must provide a certificate attesting to the fact that there are no coursework obligations for the internship period.
