About the Internship
As a credit analyst, you will help a team of analysts situated in North America and/or Europe by doing fundamental research of corporate bond issuers across several industry sectors. The analyst will assist with research and financial modelling for business and sector-specific credit reports that provide innovative insights and help the corporate rating process. The location of this post is our Mumbai office.
Roles & Responsibilities
- As a generalist corporate analyst, analyse corporate financial statements to create, propose, and defend Credit Estimates for middle market firms in a variety of sectors and jurisdictions.
- Apply financial and accounting concepts to determine inputs for proprietary financial statement analysis tools and check for accuracy.
- Prepare corporate assessments for senior analysts’ approval and assist with other written materials, research, and reports.
- Assist senior analysts and clients in analytical conversations.
- Manage administrative and data gathering activities for clients.
- Establish and sustain customer, investor, and banker relationships by offering prompt and competent client services.
- As needed, maintain associated databases.
Eligibility
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or Mathematics required.
- An MBA and/or completion of CFA Candidate Level I are preferred but not needed.
- Minimum three years of expertise assessing the credit risk of high yield or leveraged loan issuers, or two years of auditing company financial statements at a globally renowned accounting firm with a CPA licence.
- Strong GAAP financial statement analysis skills and analytical ability, including knowledge of GAAP accounting concepts.
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, local European accounting standards, and/or European financial statement formats is beneficial but not necessary.
- Must be competent to analyse firms in a variety of corporate industrial areas.
- Strong spreadsheet and report-writing abilities.
- Self-starter who can prioritise and accomplish important tasks swiftly, independently, and with a feeling of urgency.
