About DPIIT, Ministry Of Commerce & Industry

DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) is an Indian central government department that reports to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It is in charge of developing and implementing promotional and developmental measures for the industrial sector’s growth, while keeping in mind national priorities and socioeconomic goals.

Individual administrative ministries are responsible for the production, distribution, development, and planning aspects of the industries assigned to them, while the DPIIT is in charge of overall industrial strategy. It is also in charge of enabling and expanding the country’s foreign direct investment (FDI) flows.

About the Internship

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is looking for interns who are pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate degrees or are research scholars enrolled in a recognised university or institution in India or overseas. The “Interns” will be exposed to a variety of topics related to DPIIT Sections/Divisions and will be expected to assist in the process of drafting proposals, exploring existing policies, laws, rules, and regulations, conducting research, and recommending course of action to improve the regulatory environment and investment climate.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants pursuing Graduation/Post Graduation/Research in the following domains from any recognised university/institution in India or abroad are eligible to apply:

i) Engineering- all branches
ii) Management- all branches
iii) Law
iv) Economics and Development
v) Trade, Commerce and Industrialization
vi) Computers and Information Technology
vii) Library Management

Note: Candidates from other domains may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis based on criteria.

Duration

Internships will last at least six weeks but not more than three months. Interns who do not complete the internship for the required amount of time will not receive a certificate or be awarded a stipend.

Perks & Benefits

Certificate: The officer to whom the concerned Intern would be attached in a designated performa shall issue a certificate about successful completion of the internship.
Stipend: Interns will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs.10,000/-
