The Chief Minister’s Urban Leaders Fellowship (CMULF) is a two-year fellowship programme sponsored by the Delhi government, which invites young professionals to participate in policymaking and work directly with ministers in charge.
The Chief Minister’s Urban Leaders Fellowship (CMULF), which is a unique opportunity for young leaders across India to collaborate with the government to address some of the most important urban concerns, has been launched by the Delhi Chief Minister. This fellowship will last two years, with selected fellows participating in a three-week training programme throughout that time. Each fellow will be assigned to one of the government’s many ministries and work under the direct supervision of the Minister in charge once they have completed their training.
Individual sessions with executive coaches who have expertise mentoring public service specialists will be provided to the fellows in order to equip them with essential skills. The fellows will be on probation for the first three months, and will only be allowed to continue with the fellowship after successfully completing the probation period’s activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Fellow
- PhD and at least one year of full-time work experience.
- Post-graduate degree with a minimum of 60% (or equivalent CGPA) and at least 3 years of full-time work experience. Postgraduates include professionals such as MBBS, LLB, and others who completed a minimum 5-year course of study following Class 12.
- Professionals such as Chartered Accountants, Architects, and Company Secretaries registered with their respective professional bodies and having a minimum of 3 years of post-registration work experience are allowed to apply as “fellows.”
- Graduate with at least 60% (or equivalent CGPA) and at least 5 years full-time job experience.
- Candidates applying for this position must be under the age of 35.
Associate Fellow
- A post-graduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA). Postgraduates include professionals such as MBBS, LLB, and others who completed a minimum 5-year course of study following Class 12.
- Graduates with a minimum of 60% (or equivalent CGPA) and at least one year of full-time job experience are recommended.
- Professionals who are registered with their respective professional bodies, such as Chartered Accountants, Architects, and Company Secretaries, are eligible to apply for ‘associate fellows’ if they have at least one year of post-registration work experience.
Duration
Applicants for this fellowship opportunity must be willing to devote two years of their time to the fellowship.
Perks
- Fellows would be compensated with Rs 1.25 lakhs per month, while associate fellows will be given Rs 75,000 per month.
- In addition, at the start of the fellowship, a one-time stipend of Rs 35,000 would be offered in lieu of computer/laptop purchases.
- Fellows will get a certificate from the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) signed by the Chief Minister upon successful completion of the two-year fellowship programme.
Important Dates
- The deadline for applications is August 9, 2021.
- The first shortlist of candidates will be announced on August 20, 2021.
- Interviews are scheduled for the last week of August.
- The final list will be announced in the first week of September.
- The fellowship programme will commence in October of 2021.
