About Bain & Company

Bain & Company, based in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American management consulting firm. Public, private, and non-profit entities are all served by the firm.

Bill Bain, former Group Vice President of Boston Consulting Group, and his colleagues, notably Patrick F. Graham, created Bain & Company in 1973. The company expanded fast in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1984, Bill Bain broke out his alternative investing firm, Bain Capital, and named Mitt Romney as its first CEO.

From 1987 to the early 1990s, Bain had multiple setbacks and financial difficulties. In their separate capacities as CEO and Chairman, Romney and Orit Gadiesh are credited with bringing the company back to profitability and growth. In the 2000s, Bain & Company continues to grow and develop new practise areas focusing on non-profits, technology firms, and other industries. Working with private equity firms became a significant part of its practise.

About the Internship

The major responsibility of this position is to provide IT assistance to our user base in a demanding, results-oriented environment. While maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, this job is required to handle the bulk of calls and emails to the Help Desk utilising a range of problem-solving approaches. The usage of the HD+ ticketing and inventory system is an important part of Bain’s support operation. The intern will be trained on the ticketing system, as well as any other technologies and administrative procedures that are necessary to carry out the responsibilities.

This individual will develop support skills in a high-pressure workplace and will be able to broaden their technical knowledge to assist a variety of software, hardware, and mobile platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop the abilities needed to be the principal point of contact for Bain employees with IT difficulties and concerns.
  • Learn and practise the troubleshooting and problem-solving skills needed to fix hardware and software issues on computer systems and other compatible hardware (mobile devices, phones, voicemail, projectors, etc.).
  • Follow up with users on a regular basis to guarantee total resolution and satisfaction.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory database, repair record, and activity log by learning the inventory system.
  • Develop the ability to recognise and accomplish TSG initiatives that provide value to the department and/or our clients on a proactive basis.
  • To maintain data integrity, system dependability, and data security while offering critical flexibility to end users, become familiar with and implement TSG principles and regulations.
  • Learn how to create and deploy notebook and desktop PCs using the Bain image and PC setup and testing procedure.
  • Develop the abilities needed to support the various audio-visual equipment in your local workplace and other offices in the surrounding area (Projectors, Videoconference Units, etc.)
  • Learn how to work with outside vendors to organise off-site repairs.
  • Test new applications, as well as system hardware and software updates, with other TSG employees in local, regional, and worldwide teams.
  • As needed, provide coverage during off-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related subject with a cumulative percentage of 78 or above or an equivalent CGPA is required.
  • To be successful in this role, you must have excellent customer service abilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a similar subject is necessary, as well as an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
  • Interest and ability in technology and technical challenges have been demonstrated.
  • Communicate well with clients and team members, displaying a confident and self-motivated demeanour.
  • In a multi-tasking workplace, strong time management and prioritising abilities are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and assist other TSG team members as they assist our clients.
  • Under pressure, the ability to remain cool and think rationally.
  • Basic troubleshooting abilities and methods are demonstrated, as well as an aptitude for analytical issue solving.
  • To fulfil project deadlines or address difficulties, the ability to work extra hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
