Amazon is looking for enthusiastic Systems Development Engineers who can create cutting-edge software applications and solutions for mission-critical environments. You will have a tremendous opportunity to influence consumer product design, architecture, and development. In a fast-paced agile workplace, you’ll be in charge of delivering and supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools.
Roles & Responsibilities
- You build software components from beginning to end, understand how to scope and describe requirements, and spot potential flaws and trade-offs using various design methodologies.
- You write, develop, and test scalable scripts, applications, systems, processes, and methods.
- You produce high-quality code to solve issues by utilising efficient data structures and algorithms with extensive test coverage.
- You look for ways to automate repetitive processes like infrastructure management, system setups, monitoring, load and chaos testing, and so on, and you create workable solutions that are easy to manage.
- Identifying and executing industry best practises to increase service availability, reliability, and efficiency, you serve as an engineering excellence champion.
- Manage customer-impacting events, participate in incident postmortems, and do Root Cause Analysis (Troubleshooting) to identify and resolve underlying issues.
- Upgrades, decommissioning, and maintenance of production systems and infrastructure (UNIX/Linux systems, AWS Services, Networking problems, and so on) are performed.
Basic Qualifications
- At the time of application, you must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/engineering or a comparable discipline.
- Syntactical understanding of programming or scripting languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, and other similar languages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and knowledge of computer science essentials such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, design, data structures, and complexity analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of networked, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Knowledge in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
- Ability to communicate technical issues and solutions clearly.
- Able to handle unclear or undefined situations and think abstractly.
- Able to learn rapidly and adapt to a fast-paced/agile development environment.
