About Hike
Hike Messenger, also known as Hike Sticker Chat, was an Indian freeware, cross-platform instant messaging (IM) and Voice over IP (VoIP) programme developed by Kavin Bharti Mittal and currently owned by Hike Private Limited. It was introduced on December 12, 2012, by Kavin Bharti Mittal. Hike is a multi-platform app that can work offline through SMS. The authentication mechanism for the app registration is based on a standard one-time password (OTP). Hike opted to go from a single super app strategy to a many app approach due to the supply of low-cost data, allowing it to focus more on its core messaging skills.
It features a variety of Hikemoji Stickers that may be personalised. The user interface was updated in version 6, and the app no longer supports functions such as news, mobile payment, games, or jokes. Hike is valued at $1.4 billion by CB Insights, with over 100 million registered users as of August 2016 and 350 workers based in Bengaluru and Delhi.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and test deep learning models for computer vision and audio (mostly, in Python)
- Create deep learning model deployment pipelines for both real-time and batch inference.
- Own end to end Quality Metrics for the various AI models: from learning to inference to rendering.
- Experiment with producing high-quality 3D visuals using a variety of platforms, including Android Native and game engines like Unity.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional environment with Artists, Engineers, and Scientists to turn cutting-edge research (AI, Art, and Graphics/Multimedia) into high-quality user experiences.
Eligibility
- B.tech/MS in Computer Science/Mathematics & Computing/Electronics & Communication/Physics/Statistics from a top-tier institution (ideally final year of Computer Science/Mathematics & Computing/Electronics & Communication/Physics/Statistics)
- Strong programming skills, particularly with the Python Scientific Stack (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn etc.)
- Linear Algebra, Signal Processing, Optimization, and Data Structures are all solid foundations.
- Machine Learning experience, ideally deep learning using Pytorch/Tensorflow.
- Building cutting-edge AI products in the disciplines of computer vision, graphics, audio, AR/VR, and other fields.
- Unwavering desire to understand, own, and offer user happiness.
- Willingness to transition into a full-time position Over the next year or so, ML-Engg/ML-Scientist at Hike.
- Bonus: Knowledge of at least one of the following technologies: Android, Javascript, and Unity.
